To pursue an idea

How many ways are there to open a closed element of a particular material, in a particular way?
The pursuit of the same idea applied in the same material.
Pursuing the same idea generates a series of pieces that is not a series, it is a group, a herd governed by a research axis that has an operations plan pointing in the same direction. Squeezing that idea allows you to exhaust it, leave it, surrender it, kill it. But it is also a conquest of a new and irreversible place.

A matter of thickness

If to open is to force the thickness, to overcome the resistance of the walls and finally to connect the spaces, to overcome the thickness is to invent new holes. Invent new holes. Open on another side.
Why open? Or why open again? Why open a hollow element that already has two openings at each end? Why open a pipe?
Because there are more holes to discover, of many calibers and different natures. To invent new holes. It is about opening elsewhere.
Pierce through other sides.

The transformation

Opening is twisting, affecting the resistant material and transforming it into soft matter. Curve the line, crumble the surface, affect a structure. What about the openings that the pipe already has? The transformation of a single element. Many forms of opening. Twisting, cutting, burning. The transformation.
There is an understanding between matter and its transformation. Only she knows her dynamics in the face of the changes that I can propose. She governs the movements.

Sensitive material

There is an understanding of the material being manipulated.
That is, how much do you understand and how much does the material feel when it is transformed? The energy of matter.

Amorphous metal

The smoothness of the industrial material disintegrates with the will to wrinkle it.

Neither hard nor soft, Ambiguous

A material can have different degrees of density depending on the situation in which it is.
Our sensitivity tends to perceive some materials as soft and others as hard, taking as a parameter the relationship established with the body itself, if it pokes, if it cuts, if it hurts, if it shelters, if it caresses, if it sustains, if it lasts, if it dies, etc.
If we stretch the limits of these sensations, if we blur the perceptions, then we can begin to feel more ambiguous the materials, more changeable.
The ambiguity of the thicket. The consistency.
What does it mean that a material is hard and a material is soft?
I guess the relationship that is established with the possibilities of manipulating it. The measure is the physical strength of a human body. It is the parameter.
I guess that’s why there are no wooden skirts or bronze shirts or metal trousers.
I prefer to think of ambiguous materials. Of ambiguous consistency. They are hard or soft according to the situation.
